I never got to meet you but your daughter loves you so much. My daughter Hannah got to meet you at the last bout and was very sad to hear of this. Just know that now you have no pain and that someday everyone will be there too. Rest in peace...
I met Betty 32 years ago at my first home bureau meeting. We crafted, socialized, exercised, and enjoyed monthly lunches with the girls over many years. She was there for me when my husband died. She was a wonderful friend. I will miss her very much.
We appear in the kindergarten class picture at the Burgess Elementary. School, circa 1945. I don’t remember you from kindergarten. However, I remember you well from a period 15 or so years later when we dated for a time while in college: formal dances and proms at Emmanuel and Boston College, occasional trips to Scituate to visit your sister and family, dreadful Doris Day movies. Occasionally I would wonder what became of you. Sadly I learned a few days ago when your death notice appeared in the Boston Globe. Perhaps, like me, you were anticipating your fiftieth college reunion. When mine occurs later in the spring and they call for a moment of prayerful remembrance of those gone on, I shall have you in my thoughts and prayers, as you have been over these recent days.
