Douglas A. Aldred, age 66 formerly of Ransomville, died unexpectedly on Saturday January 28, 2012 at his residence in Sheboygan, WI. Doug was born December 25, 1945 in Buffalo, NY, the son of the late Gilbert and Virginia (Feger) Aldred. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of Vietnam and Desert Storm. Doug enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1963 . He was discharged from active duty in 1967and became a member of the Air Force Reserves. He retired from the Reserves with the rank of Master Sergeant in 2005. For 31 years he was employed as an Aircraft Technician at the Niagara Falls Air Base. Doug married Jo (Nuss) Aldred on November 24, 1984 and they moved to Wisconsin after his retirement. In addition to his wife, Jo, he is survived by his children, Aimee (Taylor) Hulett of Waterloo, Iowa. Stacy Aldred of Youngstown, and Scott Aldred of Niagara Falls, NY; his grandchildren, Bailey, Cameron, Collier, Carter, Jordan, and Aiden; a sister, Sandy Bennett of Darien, NY, a brother, Donald (Donna) Aldred of Fairport, NY; and several nieces, and nephews. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Friday from 6-9 pm. Funeral Services with full Military Honors will be held Saturday, February 4, at 11:00 AM in the Niagara Falls Air Base Chapel, 2026 Lockport Rd., Niagara Falls. Burial will follow in Acacia Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094.
