John "Jack" N. Brown, age 91 of Grand Island, formerly of Youngstown, Buffalo, and East Aurora died Thursday January 12, 2012 while under the loving care of his family and Buffalo Hospice. Jack was born December 3, 1920 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late John and Ella (Edwards) Brown. He received his B.S. from the University of Buffalo and was an Engineer, employed by F.N. Burt in Cheektowaga, NY for 45 years retiring in 1985. An avid sailor, Jack was a former member of the Youngstown Yacht Club. He was also a former member of the Orchard Park Philharmonic. He was predeceased by his wives, Norma Bowers Brown in 2000 and Jean Elwood Graham Brown in 2007. He is survived by two daughters, Carolyn "Carrie" A. (Jim) Anderson of Grand Island, and Joanne M. (Nicholas) Buccieri of East Aurora, NY; two step children, Kevin (Jan) Graham and Alison (Frank) Bussman; his grandchildren, Tiffany (Lorne) Aschendorf, Jason (Dr. Anne) Anderson, Nathan, Trevor (Laura), and Tyler (Kacie) Buccieri; his great grandchildren; Juliet, Gavin, Thaddeus "Teddy", and Lilly. He was predeceased by two sisters, Marion Rohrer and Norma Ayers. A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 15, at 1:00 PM in St. Nicholas Anglican Church, 2784 Seneca St., West Seneca. There will be no prior visitation. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to Buffalo Hospice, 225 Como Park Blvd., Cheektowaga, NY 14227. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston.
