Obituary of Harold E. Wilkins

Harold E. Wilkins, age 96 of the Town of Cambria, died Tuesday January 10, 2012 at his residence under the loving care of his family and Niagara Hospice. Harold was born May 27, 1915 in Newfane, the son of the late Elmer and Edith (Schultz) Wilkins. He married Leona (Donner) Wilkins on September 21, 1940 and they have resided in Cambria since 1957. Harold was a Cabinet Maker, employed by Kittinger Furniture in Buffalo for 17 years. He retired in 1980. Previous to that, Harold worked for Richmond Manufacturing, Richardson Boat Company in North Tonawanda, and had built houses. He was a long time member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church at North Ridge where he had served on numerous committees through the years. Harold enjoyed traveling, bowling, fishing, and the Cambria Friendship Club. In addition to his wife, Leona, he is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Michael) Polizzi of West Falls, NY and Sharon (Charles) Fleming of Lafayette, IN; his grandsons, Michael J. Polizzi, Curtis and Brent Fleming; and five nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Elton Wilkins and a sister, Edna Miles. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Thursday from 7 - 9 PM and Friday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 14, at 11:00 AM in St. Peter's Lutheran Church at North Ridge, 4169 Church Rd., Town of Cambria, with the Vicar Robert Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow in North Ridge Cemetery, Town of Cambria.
