Eleanor J. Reele, age 88 of Niagara Falls NY, passed away on Friday January 6, 2012 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Residence in Lewiston. Eleanor was born July 27, 1923 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of the late Frederick and Edith (Grigsby) Tuttle. She grew up and lived in the Town of Niagara and Niagara Falls and had lived in Youngstown, Lewiston, and Palmetto, FL. After graduating from LaSalle High School in 1941 she went on to work at American Salesbook, Kimberly Clark, and at Lewiston Porter Central Schools while operating Comerford's Riverview Inn in Youngstown. In 1975 she graduated from Kelly Business School. In 1988 she retired from the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles. Eleanor was a longtime member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Youngstown. One of her greatest joys was seeing and spending time with her grandchildren. Throughout her life, Eleanor enjoyed playing cards, bingo, golfing, bowling, and ceramics. She also enjoyed the Lewiston Senior Center and traveling. Eleanor had survived three husbands, Matthew S. Gorzka, Stuart P. Comerford, Sr., and Louis Reele. She is survived by her children, Matthew (Phyllis) Gorzka of Niagara Falls, NY, Nancy (Jim) Brown of Richmond, TX, and Stuart (Debby) Comerford, Jr. of Youngstown; her step children, Joseph (Jan) and Louis (Bonnie) Reele, and Rosalie (Clayton) Wakefield. She was a loving grandmother to Shawn (Jon) Shumway, Kimberly Torcasio, Gidget (Paul) Cannon, Raelene (Michael) Robinson, Eric (Dana) and Andrew (Laura) Runge, Ryan and Brandon Comerford, and twelve great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister, Helen (late Nick) Delgrolice of the Town of Niagara, and two brothers, Douglas Tuttle of Youngstown, and Frederick (Carol) Tuttle of Ransomville. She was predeceased by a grandson, Douglas Gorzka, two sisters, Eileen (Hank) Ankenbauer and Vera (Clifford) Tontoli, and a brother, Harold Tuttle. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Monday from 4 - 8 pm. A Funeral Services will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 10, at 10:00 AM in St. John's Episcopal Church, Main & Chestnut Sts., Youngstown, with the Rev. Ellen Brauza officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Rural Cemetery, Youngstown. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, the American Cancer Society, 101 JohnJames Audubon Pkwy., Amherst, NY 14228, or to the Rosenberg & Richmond Helping Hands, Inc., PO Box 1268, 902 Collins, Richmond, TX 77469.
