Daniel Meyers

Daniel F. Meyers, age 60 of Lewiston died Saturday December 31, 2011 in Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, after a brief illness. Daniel was born January 16, 1951 in Buffalo, the son of the late Frank and Betty (Joerg) Meyers, and was raised in North Tonawanda where he graduated from North Tonawanda High School in 1969. He married Joan M. Haungs on December 17, 1971. A Veteran of the Vietnam War, Daniel served in the U.S. Air Force from 1970 to 1974. He entered the U.S. Army Reserves and was called to active duty for Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. He retired from the Army Reserves with the rank of Major. Daniel graduated from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio and received his Masters Degree in Health Management from the University of Buffalo. Since 2005, he has been a Medical Computer Consultant for Max IT, Inc...Previous to that Daniel had worked as a Laboratory Manager for several area Buffalo Hospitals. Daniel enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Joan; his children, Jennifer (Eric) Hardman of Burke, VA, Jeffrey (Christina) Meyers and James Meyers both of Niagara Falls, NY; his grandchildren, Steven, Samantha, and Seth Meyers, Kaylynn, Alaina, and Tyler Hardman; a brother, Thomas (Kathy) Meyers of Dublin, OH; a brother in law, John (Sally) Haungs of Rochester, NY; and his nieces and nephews, Scott and Kristen Haungs, Paige and Drew Meyers. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston on Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Funeral Services and Military Honors will be held Thursday, January 5, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home.
