Obituary of Mary R. Shaver

Mary R. Shaver, age 85 of Lewiston, died Sunday October 30, 2011 in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a long illness. Mary was born March 12, 1926 in New York City, NY, the daughter of the late Michael and Catherine (Casey) Hickey and has lived in Lewiston since 1956. She was a graduate of Niagara County Community College with an Associate's Degree in Social Science. Mary enjoyed reading and walking throughout the village of Lewiston. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold C. Shaver, Sr. in July of 1973. Mary is survived by her children, Harold C. Shaver, Jr. of Lewiston, Michele (John) Dorsey of Stuyvesant, NY, and Catherine "Kit" (Harry) Long of Lewiston; her grandchildren, John Bergeron of Niagara Falls, NY, Christine (Christopher) Rogowski and John Andrew Dorsey both of Stuyvesant, NY, Daniel Long of Lewiston, and Nancy Long of Kenmore, NY; her great grandchildren, Andrew and Alicia Bergeron, and Logan Rogowski; a sister, Irene Dunn of Bergenfield, NJ and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Michael Shaver; three brothers, James, Jackie, and Michael Hickey; and two sisters, Catherine Bonnie and Doris Ogden. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Memorials may be made to the Lewiston Public Library, 305 S Eighth St., Lewiston, NY 14092.
