Dorothy N. Seelbinder, age 87 of the Town of Cambria, passed away Sunday September 18, 2011 in the Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Medina, after a lengthy illness.
Dorothy was born March 17, 1924 in Olean, NY, the daughter of the late Herman and Myrtle (Boorumn) Burdick. She married Herman Seelbinder on July 17, 1943. He predeceased her on June 15,2006. Dorothy was employed by the Carborundum Co. in Wheatfield, NY for 23 years, retiring in 1986. She enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, crocheting, and spending winters in Arizona. She especially loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Dianna (Tim) VanErem and Edward (Carmen) Seelbinder both of Tucson, AZ, Charon (Darl) McCoy of the Town of Cambria, and Ted (Kristen) Seelbinder of Niagara Falls, NY; her grandchildren, Mary and Mark (Lisa)Seelbinder, Patrick (Kristen) and Scott McCoy, Michelle (Bobby) DiNunzio, Dawn O'Sullivan, Danielle, and Eric Seelbinder; eight great grandchildren; and two sisters, Rosetta and Virginia Burdick both of Olean, NY. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Burdick and three brothers, Merton, Addison, and Frederick Burdick .
Funeral Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the Cambria Congregational Church, 4045 Lower Mt. Rd., Lockport, NY 14094 or to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd. Ransomville, NY.
