Obituary of Shirley J. Williams

Shirley J. Williams, age 80 of Ransomville. Though her journey on earth is over, a new one began in heaven on August 31, 2011, when she joined her husband, Donald "Del" Williams NY, who left us on December 2, 1999. Shirley was born June 12, 1931 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late Edward and Hazel (Krohn) Hillman and attended local schools. She married Del on March 18, 1950 and they moved to Ransomville in 1959 where they raised their family. Shirley had worked at Slipko's as a young woman, then at Harrison Radiator in Lockport. She then drove school bus for Ransomville Bus Lines, for the next 20 years, retiring in 1985. Shirley was a member of the Ransomville United Methodist Church and a member of its' Ladies Aid Society. She loved to go on trips with the Retiree's, play Bingo, go to the Casino, and shop for new clothes and shoes. She is survived by her children, Donald B. (Diane) Williams, Sharon L. (Timothy) Hayes, Thomas P. (Tammy), James E. (Vickie), and Ronald W. (Shelly) Williams. Her grandchildren, Jennifer (Andy), Donnie, Michael (Raeland) Sarah (Andy), Tommie-Jo, Ty, and Brenden Williams, Shannon (Todd) Lemp, Tana (Paul) Lanaway, Travis Hayes, Emily, Robbea, and Morgan Williams; her great grandchildren, Mackenzie Hayes, Tyler Lemp, and Ocean Williams; three sisters, Joyce (Neil) Truesdell, Joanna (John) McIntyre, and Patricia McKenzie; a brother, Roger (Eleanor) Hillman; and many nieces, nephews, and caring friends. She was predeceased by a brother and sister in law, Richard (Rose) Hillman. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Monday from 3 - 7 pm. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 6, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Matthew Worley officiating. Burial will follow in North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd. Town of Cambria. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to the Ransomville Vol. Fire Co.
