John Morreale, age 64 of Youngstown, died unexpectedly on Wednesday August 17, 2011 at his residence.
John was born January 15, 1947 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Nicholas and Nina (Viverito) Morreale and has lived in Youngstown the past 28 years. He was a graduate of Trott Vocational High School in Niagara Falls and of Ferris State College in Michigan, and a Navy Veteran of Vietnam. John was employed by GM Delphi in Lockport for 35 years, retiring as a Skill Trade Foreman in 2008. He currently has been working as a Security Guard for U.S. Securities in Buffalo.
John was a member of St. Bernard's RC Church in Youngstown, the National Rifle Association, and the K&K Sporting Clay Trap Shooting Club in Wrights Corners. He was a former member of the 3-F Conservation Club. He enjoyed History, sports, and was an avid NY Yankee's fan.
He is survived by his children, Michele (John) Smith of Buffalo, Kimberly Houston and Nicholas Morreale both of Youngstown; and his grandchildren, Alexander and Emily Smith, and Ryleigh Houston.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Sunday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 22, at 10:00 AM in St. Bernard's RC Church, Second & Hinman Sts., Youngstown, with the Rev. Msgr Thomas Moran officiating. (Please assemble at Church) Burial will follow in Elmlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094 or to the American Heart Assoc., PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13270-3049.
