Obituary of Donald W. Thomas

Donald W. Thomas, of Lewiston, NY, died on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 in Erie County Medical Center, after a short illness. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, to the late William and Warnera (Scheurich) Thomas, and was in the first graduating class from Niagara-Wheatfield High School in 1960. Don was employed by Niagara Junction Railroad for five years, at EI DuPont for three years. He was the store manager for 23 years at the True Value Hardware and was currently the Manufacturer's Representative for Don Thomas Associates for the past 25 years. Don served on the Village of Lewiston Planning Board in the 1970's. He enjoyed fishing, camping, but mostly spending time with his family. Don is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sharyn (Burns) Thomas; three sons, Steven (Annamarie) Thomas, Paul Thomas, both of Lewiston, Kevin (Crystal) Thomas of Youngstown; three daughters, Colleen (David) Stayner of Youngstown, Kristen (Joseph) Freeman of Raleigh, NC and Ashley Krehan of Bergholz; ten grandchildren, Sarah, Ryan and Bailey Stayner, Brittany, Dylan and Jenna Thomas, Jackson and Mason Freeman, Kelsey and Shawn Krehan and the late Hunter Thomas; a brother, Douglas (Ruth) Thomas of Lewiston; and six nieces and nephews.
