Milo, E. Quarantillo, age 66 of Niagara Falls, died Tuesday July 26, 2011 in Buffalo General Hospital after a brief illness.
Milo was born July 11, 1945 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Nicola Quarantillo and was a graduate of Lewiston Porter High School. He was employed by the Town of Lewiston Highway Department for 35 years, retiring as Highway Superintendent in 2000.Milo married Anna (Baum) Quarantillo on October 5, 1968.
He was a life member and Exempt member of the Lewiston Volunteer Fire Co. #1, where he played Santa Claus there for over 20 years. Milo was also a member of the Niagara County Highway Association. He was an avid NY Yankee fan and loved his family and enjoyed the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Anna; his children, Norman (Shannon) Quarantillo, Robin Quarantillo, Glenn Quarantillo (Melissa), Paul and Alex Quarantillo all of Niagara Falls, NY; his grandchildren, Greg, Milo, Monica, Justin, Rachel, Sami, and Danny; his great grandchildren, Lil' Man Fred, Tyler, and Dominic; his brothers and sisters, Ralph Quarantillo of Lewiston, Glen (Terry) Quarantillo of Grand Island, Gail (Jim) Smith of Lewiston, Darlene (Richard) Condino of North Tonawanda, Joy (John) Neville of Youngstown, Donald (Nancy Howse) Quarantillo, James (the Late Pamela) Quarantillo, Kim (Joan) Quarantillo all of Lewiston, and Tim (Vicky) Quarantillo of Youngstown; two sisters in law, Ronale Baum of Niagara Falls, and Lorene Quarantillo of Lewiston, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, David C. and Richard Quarantillo.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston on Friday from 5 - 9 pm. A celebration of Milo's life will be held on Saturday, July 30, at 1:00 PM in the Lewiston Volunteer Fire Co. #1,145 N. 6th St. Lewiston, with the Rev. Milan Slahor, Chaplin, officiating. A reception will follow. In tribute to Milo's affection for the NY Yankees, the family suggests that casual dress with a Yankee theme would be appropriate Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials to the Family of Milo Quarantillo, 3531 Ferry Ave. Niagara Falls, NY 14304 would be appreciated.
