Obituary of Betty J. Verguson

Betty J. Verguson, age 79 of Lewiston died Sunday July 24, 2011 in Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, after a short illness. Betty was born June 14, 1932 in Ransomville, the daughter of the late Elmer and Emily (Mulford) Verguson. She was a 1950 graduate of Wilson High School and lived most of her life in Ransomville and Youngstown before moving to Lewiston in 1993. Betty will always be remembered for being a loving mom and grandmother. She is survived by her loving and longtime companion, Siegfried Boelter of Lewiston; her children, JoAnn (Brian) Donohue and Susan (Mark) Cook both of Lewiston, Brad (Julia) Filipovich of Forsyth, GA, and Darcy (James) Silver of Schuylerville, NY; her grandchildren, Tawnya and Zachariah; a brother, John Verguson of Lockport; a sister, Jean Dolan of Wolfeboro, NH; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, "Barney". She was predeceased by three sisters, Pearl Cartier, Mary Ferington, and Dorothy Sims; and four , brothers, Elmer, Charles, Richard, and Louis Verguson. Firneds may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville on Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 28, at 11:00 AM in St. John's Episcopal Church, Main and Chestnut Sts., Youngstown, with the Rev. Ellen Brauza officiating. Burial will follow in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Boulevard, Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852, Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094 , or to the Niagara County SPCA, 2100 Lockport Rd., Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
