Obituary of Betty J. Verguson

Betty J. Verguson, age 79 of Lewiston died Sunday July 24, 2011 in Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, after a short illness. Betty was born June 14, 1932 in Ransomville, the daughter of the late Elmer and Emily (Mulford) Verguson. She was a 1950 graduate of Wilson High School and lived most of her life in Ransomville and Youngstown before moving to Lewiston in 1993. Betty will always be remembered for being a loving mom and grandmother. She is survived by her loving and longtime companion, Siegfried Boelter of Lewiston; her children, JoAnn (Brian) Donohue and Susan (Mark) Cook both of Lewiston, Brad (Julia) Filipovich of Forsyth, GA, and Darcy (James) Silver of Schuylerville, NY; her grandchildren, Tawnya and Zachariah; a brother, John Verguson of Lockport; a sister, Jean Dolan of Wolfeboro, NH; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, "Barney". She was predeceased by three sisters, Pearl Cartier, Mary Ferington, and Dorothy Sims; and four , brothers, Elmer, Charles, Richard, and Louis Verguson. Firneds may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville on Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 28, at 11:00 AM in St. John's Episcopal Church, Main and Chestnut Sts., Youngstown, with the Rev. Ellen Brauza officiating. Burial will follow in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston. Flowers are gratefully declined.
