Obituary of Leah M. Adamson

Leah M. Adamson, age 88 of Youngstown, died Friday July 15, 2011 in the Northgate Manor Nursing Home in Wheatfield, under the care of Niagara Hospice.
Leah was born January 22, 1923 in Clearfield, PA, the daughter of the late Ambrose and Anna (Cythert) Turner and was a 1941 graduate of Clearfield High School. On October 25, 1945 she married Robert Adamson, Jr. and they moved to Youngstown in 1956. Robert predeceased her on April 14, 2008.

Leah was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Youngstown, where she sang in the Choir and served on many committees throughout the years. She loved cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, bowling, playing the piano and organ, and singing. Leah was devoted to her family, instilling wisdom, patience and love to all.
She is survived by her children, Cam (Twila) Adamson of Aliquippa, PA, Garey Adamson, Sr. (Suzanne) of Rochester, NY, Thomas (Linda) Adamson, Timothy (Lori) Adamson, and Douglas (Linda) Adamson all of Youngstown, Joy Khatib (Khaled) of Lewiston, and David (Caroline) Adamson of Henley-on-Thames, England; her grandchildren, Benjamin, Nate, Dawn, George, Melissa, Tim, Jr., Christian, Mackenzie, David, Leah, Robert, John, and Claire; her step grandchildren, Nikki and Danielle; her great grandchildren, Anthony, Michael, Zachary, Brandon, Jonathon, Mathew, Elizabeth, and Joshua; her lifelong friend, Margaret Payne and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Virginia Sopic, Katheran Collins, and Pauline Mitchell; and two brothers, Gary and Sonny Turner.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 19, at 11:00 AM in St. John Lutheran Church, 420 Lockport St., Youngstown, with the Rev. Richard Blemaster officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Church. Burial will be in the Oakland Rural Cemetery, Youngstown. Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, 420 Lockport St., Youngstown, NY 14174 or to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston.
