Obituary of Hazel S. Falkner

Hazel S. Falkner, of Youngstown, NY, died on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 after a lengthy illness. Born on May 29, 1920 in Niagara Falls, NY to the late Roy and Katherine (Stamler) Shafer. She was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School in 1938 then attended to Roberts Beauty School in Buffalo. Hazel worked as a Professional Model for the Spirella Corsett Co. Niagara Falls for 22 years and then owned her Beauty Shop called ''Beauty by Joni" for 31 years, retiring in 1987. She attended the Youngstown Senior Citizens and Lewiston Seniors for many years and was a member of the Hair Dressers & Cosmetologists Assoc. Hazel enjoyed helping the elderly community in Youngstown, and was most well known for her many stylist hats. Hazel was predeceased by her husbands, Earl Lenhart and Carl Falkner; and a sister, Dolores Dick. She is survived by a brother, Roy (Patricia) Shafer of Youngstown; her step-son, William Falkner III (Sue Walsh); a step-grandaughter, Jessica Falkner; her longtime companion, Earl Honadle; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville, on Friday from 3:00-7:00 PM. Funeral service will be held on Saturday (July 2nd) at 11:00 AM with Rev.
