Obituary of J. Vincent Greenlief

Jothan Vincent Greenlief passed away on June 27, 2011 at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport. He was born on September 16, 1922, the son of the late Aaron and Samantha Greenlief of Wheeling, West Virginia.
Mr. Greenlief was a hard worker all his life. He was employed at Union Carbide, Wendt's Dairy, as well as working for Norval Goodman and Roy Christy as a farmhand for several years. He and his wife, Norma Grace Fowler Greenlief married on February 7, 1946. Norma predeceased him in 2000. His eldest son, David V. Greenlief (Isabel) predeceased him in 2003.
Mr. Greenlief is survived by one son and two daughters, Danny C. Greenlief of Lockport, Dawn (Miguel) Lao of Lockport and Doreen (Celso) Cruz of Wilson; eight grandchildren, Eric (Dawn) Greenlief, Gerald (Sheila) Greenlief, Rebecca Kelly Greenlief, Jennifer (Paul) Hanson, Michelle (Aaron) Cobb, Jillian Greenlief, Stefanie (Gregg) Teschemacher and Amanda Lao. Also surviving are 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandson and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family and friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville on Thursday from 7-9 pm. Funeral services will take place on Friday, July 1, at 11:00 am in the funeral home with the Rev. Charles Lamb officiating. Burial will follow at North Ridge Cemetry, Town of Cambria.
