Donald J. Wagner, age 65 of Youngstown, died Wednesday June 22, 2011 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, after a short illness.
Donald was born June 14, 1946 in Syracuse, NY, the son of the late Albert and Roseanne (Ozarowski) Wagner. He was a 1964 graduate of Liverpool High School. Donald was a U.S. Army Veteran of Vietnam. He served from August of 1966 to his honorable discharge, with the rank of SP 4, in July of 1969. He was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Donald was an Assembly Line Worker, employed by the GM Power Train Plant in Tonawanda, for 38 years and was an avid golfer.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta (Walker) Wiley; his children, Donald J. (Jacqueline) Wagner, Jr. of Syracuse, NY, David M. (Susan) Wagner of Marcellus, NY, Brian J. (Candylyn) Wagner of Springfield, VA, Lynn M. Wiley of Niagara Falls, NY, Sheryl G. (Mark) Donohue of New Vienna, OH, and David W. (Rebekah) Wiley of Fulton, NY; his grandchildren, James Donohue, Kori Gray, Walker Wagner, Shaun Wiley, and Isabella Wagner; a great grandchild, Marlee Donohue; a sister, Rosemarie (Doug) Granger; his brothers, Albert (Ruth), Robert (late Violet), Peter (Joyce), and John Wagner; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Mark T. Wagner.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, n. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston on Saturday, June 25, from 10 am to 12 Noon. A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held following the visitation at 12:00 noon in the funeral home, with the Rev. Msgr. John Zeitler officiating. Private burial services will be in the Onondaga Valley Cemetery, Neadrow, NY. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to a Charity of one's choice.
