I learned a lot from Mr. Spina. He taught me to live life to the fullest and to be yourself, no matter what. He was the funniest man I ever knew and his love for chocolate chip cookies was strong..haha! Everyone seemed to know him around here, it's like he was famous or something! He will be forever missed and never forgotten.

Pat was the best neighbor and friend anyone could wish for. I will miss him and wish I had spent more time in the shop lately. I know that if I needed any help or knowledege he would be there. He was a hard worker and built a great business because he worked so hard and was so honest with everyone. When you can put B.S. and honesty together then you have a truely great person. We will miss him. Mike & Tina

My fondest memory was the day I woke up and heard someone mowing my lawn...only to look out and see it was a strange looking person with suspenders and long blonde hair, it was Spina in a wig! There was never a dull moment living across the street! :)
He will truly be missed and thought of often. We are blessed to have known him and call him our neighbor and friend.

I don't know were to start? But anytime I went to the shop for something ,I would be there for maybe two or three hours just talkin about stuff, and he would have me laughing, and he would have that straight face and say..really!! You all know his sense of humor and if you didn't he had the best! I remember working the grey areas with him on my race car motor. Boy did I learn how to make my race car real fast!! I would go see him on sat. Morning and he was smiling ear to ear!!!! Said to me " I was listening last night on radio "and start a little laugh and shake his head! Then I'd ask him how to go faster. He would say your goin fast enough . But as always he would tell me to sit down pour some warm pop, then come back with something for me to try which always worked!! Always! Oh and sometimes when I thought I had a good idea he would tell me to put my anatomy on the table and hit it with a hammer that would work better!! Lmao gosh I'm gonna miss him. Mr Pat you will always be rememberd and appreciated with the highest of regard!! Farewell my friend until we meet again. Jimmy Naswinter

When I think back to growing up in Ransomville, several people and places immediately come to my mind... Who can drive by that infamous garage up on 104 and not help but think about Mr Spina. Since I was a toddler I can remember stopping by there with my dad, Fred Johnpier drinking pop while they went on and on about cars, engines, the races etc... Mr Spina, or "Big Pat" as my dad called him, was always so nice and funny too! His big brown laughing eyes and warm smile will never be forgotten by this little girl.
My deepest condolences to his entire family, especially his daughter Erika, with whom I went to school with from Kindergarten to Graduation... I cannot fathom your pain, I know how much you loved this man-you are alot like him Erika, always willing to help folks out, interested in many things, warm and humorous. He did many good things in his life, one being raising a wonderful daughter like you my lifelong friend... My heart goes out to you and your family. Love, Donna Johnpier

So incredibly saddened at the loss of Pat. He was a wonderful man and meant a lot to our family. We would not have been racing all those years without him. He was humorous, kind and generous and our hearts ache. Our deepest sympathies and prayers of strength to Lynne and family in this difficult time. When we hear thunder from now on we will be thinking of Pat reving up an engine on the Dyno. God Bless him.

Dear Erika and Melissa,
I have traveled the path that is laid before you right now. Numbness may be what you are feeling right now. In time you will thaw out and a flood of emotions will over come you. To tell you all will be ok is of little comfort, maybe.
Please know that without hesitation your Daddy is sending you little reminders of him. Things to make you laugh, things to make you smile and even things to make you cry and embrace his celebration into heaven.
I remember meeting your Daddy when Melissa and I were in 2nd grade. I was scared to death of him. He was larger then life. But within a few moments he had me laughing and I felt so welcome in your home. There was never a time growing up that he didnt encourage me. I remember singing a solo when I was in 5th grade. Your Daddy told me I sang like an angel and the song was a beautiful as I was. I felt amazing at that very moment.
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful Daddy with me and so so many others. You are an incredible legacy to such a GREAT MAN!!!!
May God give you the comfort and understanding to encounter the days before you.
Much Love
Tammy McGrew-Munday-Brown

I drove by your shop today. The memories flooded back about what a great man and friend you were, I'm the same age as your age when you passed now. Hopefully some of the things you showed me will be paid forward for years to come. See you on the other side my friend.
