Obituary of Jeannette T. Ruest

Jeannette T. Ruest, age 83, formerly of Lewiston and Clinton, MD died Tuesday May 17, 2011 in Elderwood Health Care at Crestwood in the Town of Wheatfield. Jeannette was born October 16, 1927 in Fall River, MA, the daughter of the late Henri and Ida (Lavoie) Ferland. She married Paul E. Ruest on January 27, 1951 in Providence, RI. Paul predeceased her on July 11, 1985 and she has lived in this area since then. Jeannette was affectionately known as "Nana" to many people in the area. She loved to sing, ceramics, cooking, and was especially devoted to her husband and family. She is survived by her children, Paula (Robert) Hendry of Mountainview, CA, Stephen (Linda) Ruest of Lewiston, Richard (Bonnie) Ruest of Owings, MD, David (Joanne) Ruest of Waldorf, MD, Carol Bilodeau of LaPlata, MD, and Ronald (Mary) Ruest of Huntingtown, MD; 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; two sisters, Bertha (Wilber) Wahl and Irene (William) Malone both of Florida. She was predeceased by a sister, Lucille Ferland; two brothers, Arthur and Raymond Ferland; and a grandson, David Lee Bilodeau. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, May 27, at 4:00 PM in the New Zion Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 10th at Michigan, Niagara Falls, NY with the Rev. John Timmerman officiating. There will be no prior visitation. Memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, WNY/NW PA Chapter, 4245 Union Rd., Suite 108, Buffalo, NY 14225 or to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, 2600 Network Blvd., Suite 300, Frisco, TX 75034.
