Dear Gerti - We just learned of Cubby's passing, and were so very, very sorry to hear of it. He was such a wonderful person, husband, father and grandfather - and a great friend to both of us. We sincerely apologize for not learning of this sorrowful event sooner, but we don't get the Niagara Falls Gazette, and never saw it in the Buffalo News, if it was there. Again, please accept our deepest sympathy, and love to you and Janet and her family. We love you guys very much. If there's anything at all we can do for you, please do not hesitate to contact us. Dear Gert and family, I knew Cubby for many years and truly enjoyed his friendship. I was so shocked and sorry to hear of his death. I know he will be missed by many, family and friends. I first met Cubby when I started with the NYSDOT in 1981. I found him to be a pleasent and knowledgable person. We got along well together, which isn't really any surprise, Cubby got along with everbody. I really learned alot from Cubby, not only did he have a great work ethic, "GET THE JOB DONE SAFELY AND RIGHT THE FIRST TIME", but he was one of the best equipment operators the DOT was lucky enough to have. Cubby's knowledge and experiance with equipment was vast, not only could he operate something, he could service and repair it. Cubby was not selfish with his wisdom and insight he would share it with anyone who wanted learn from it. I am very sorry for his passing, I liked him very much, this world will be a little duller with out his light to shining on it. Goodbye and God bless my friend Cubby. Chris
