Obituary of James J. Dowell

James J. Dowell, age 87 of Ransomville, died suddenly on Saturday April 9, 2011 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston.
Mr. Dowell was born March 23, 1924 in Essex, England, the son of the late William and Louise (Maddocks) Dowell. He was a Veteran of the British Army serving during WW II. James married Nicole (Simon) Dowell in 1964 and they moved to the United State in 1966 when James began working in Quality Control in the Globar Division of the Carborundum Co. in Niagara Falls. He retired in 1983. James and his wife attended the Niagara Frontier Bible Church.
In addition to his wife, Nicole, he is survived by a brother, Edward Dowell of Nottingham, England; a niece, Pauline McBride of North Carolina, and three nephews in England. He was predeceased by a son, Peter J. Dowell in 1989; a brother, William Dowell; and two sisters, Elizabeth Chapman and Lena McBride.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
