I wish I had known about the "Light a Candle" sooner; however, I still would like to say some words.
Uncle Charlie was the kindest most decent man I ever knew. He was just a good soul with a decent humble loving heart. When we visited, he would make us feel so welcomed like we were one of his own.
I know he could build anything. I remember the last time I saw him at Nana’s house before she died. He was so excited showing me and my husband all the work he and Aunt Blanche had done over the years. He was beaming with enthusiasm and we could not believe how they transformed that house. It was amazing work. Besides the house, the gardens were beautiful and full of color. Every time we visited the front porch was just gorgeous from all the flowers.
Even the last time I talked with him a few months ago, despite his multiple health problems, he remained humble about the difficulties he was going through. He didn’t complain once in the conversation. I was amazed at his attitude.
I have nothing but fond memories and full respect of him. He will be greatly missed by many. It is a great loss to his family and all of us that have known him, but I believe he is with GOD now, pain free, and at peace watching over all those he loves. And you know, knowing Uncle Charlie, he is probably doing some remodeling work on God’s house and loving every minute of it. He will be greatly missed. With love and Prayers for strength to his family.
