Obituary of Linda K. Smith

Linda K. Smith, passed away peacefully in her home in Ransomville, NY, on Thursday, November 28, 2024. She was 85. Born on March 16, 1939, in Buffalo, NY, Linda was the cherished first child of the late J. Howard and Virginia L. (nee Foulke) Smith. A proud alumna of Iroquois Central School, Linda graduated in 1956 and earned her associate's degree from Endicott Junior College in 1958. She dedicated her career to Millington-Lockwood as an executive, where she was affectionately known as "The General" for her leadership in overseeing commercial property construction projects. Linda cherished over 30 years of yearly visits with her sister to Myrtle Beach, SC, creating countless treasured memories. In addition to her parents, Linda was predeceased by her brother-in-law, James M. Tait, and her dear friend, Veronica Connor. She is survived by her beloved sister, Karen V. Tait of Midlothian, VA, and her caring nephew, Dib (Sandy) Oglesby of Richmond, VA.; dear cousins, John (Lucy) Prost and Kathy (Neil) Harper. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 1-2 PM at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM, with a private interment in Laurel Hills Cemetery, Erie, PA. In Linda's memory, donations may be made to the SPCA serving Niagara County.
