Heather A. Meikle passed away peacefully at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Home in Lewiston, NY, on Sunday, October 20, 2024. She was 59. Born on March 4, 1965, in Lawrence, Kansas, she was the daughter of John B. and Rabeth J. (nee Paden) Meikle.
Heather attended Ithaca High School, graduating in 1983. Following graduation, she took on an internship with the Boston Ballet. She returned to Ithaca and attended Ithaca College, earning her BA in Communications in 1992. Heather was a talented soloist with the Ithaca Ballet and had a deep love for animals, especially her cats. She fought a courageous battle with multiple sclerosis, but never complained, always stating she was fine.
She is predeceased by her father, John B. Meikle III. Heather is survived by her mother, Rabeth J. Meikle; her sister, Christine E. (James) Woods; her brother, Bertrand Y. Meikle; and her niece, Emma.
Arrangements are entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC. Services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
If desired, memorials may be made in Heather's memory to the SPCA serving Niagara County.
