Edwina H. "Winnie" Young, of Wilson, NY, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2024, at Niagara Hospice House, surrounded by her loving family. She was 83. Born in Niagara Falls on October 12, 1941, Winnie married Bruce O. Young in Niagara Falls, NY, and they shared 66 wonderful years of marriage. Winnie loved cooking, crocheting, sewing, listening to all types of music, working on her farm and selling her fruits and vegetables at local markets, and spending time with her beloved husband. She was particularly proud of her work as an aide at Niagara Hospice, where she assisted others in their time of need. Predeceased by her loving son Keith Alexander and dear sister Eleanor Benson-Thorstenson, Winnie is survived by her beloved husband Bruce; her loving children, Mark (Jennifer) Young, Belinda Young, Colleen Click, Michelle (Hugh Leftwich) Young, and Adam (Amy Bentley) Young; her 17 cherished grandchildren; several adored great-grandchildren; also survived by many nieces and nephews. The family will be present to receive friends on Monday, October 21, 2024, from 4-7 PM at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville. Interment will be held privately in North Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Winnie's memory to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
