Harriet K. Cline, 95, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at the Northgate Health Care Facility. Born on December 18, 1928, in Middlesex, NC, she was the daughter of the late Reginald H. Knight and Mabel (nee Boyette) Knight. As a child, Harriet moved with her family to Raleigh, NC, where she attended Raleigh public schools and graduated from Hugh Morson High School in 1947. She furthered her education by taking courses at a local business college. Harriet married the late Arthur A. Cline on June 24, 1950, in the First Baptist Church of Raleigh. After their marriage, they moved to Chicago, IL, where she worked for RR Donnelley Publishing Co.
In her early years, Harriet did volunteer work for the Girl Scouts, Literacy Volunteers, and reading for the blind. She was an active member of Lewiston Baptist Church, now United Baptist Christian Church, the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, the AV Society, and the Niagara Women’s Club. She enjoyed raising African violets, listening to music, and reading. Harriet loved to cook and was always looking for new recipes. Most of all, she enjoyed hosting get-togethers.
Besides her dear parents and beloved husband, Harriet is predeceased by her caring sisters and brothers, Henry, Edward, Worth, Jane, Frances and Alice; and her loving daughter-in-law Sharon Cline.
Harriet is survived by her children, Kenneth (Diane Berna) Cline, Jane (David) Clark, and Susan (Thomas) Puff; her grandchildren, Daniel Clark and Sarah (Killian) Johnson; two adored great-grandchildren, Callum and Levity; and many nieces and nephews.
