Obituary of Richard W. Harden

Richard W. Harden, of Lewiston, NY, passed peacefully on Sunday, August 18, 2024 in Buffalo General Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was 66. Born on October 5, 1957 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of Joanne (nee Pletcher) Harms and the late Earl F. Harden. Richard married the former Lisa A. Gerber on July 11, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church Of Youngstown. He retired from CWM – Waste Management, as a heavy equipment operator for 45 years, retiring in 2022. Mr. Harden was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play football, the Buffalo Bills and riding his Harley Davidson. He loved to spend time with his children, grandchildren and playing cards with his friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Besides his father, Richard is predeceased by his dear sister Cheryl Hina. He is survived by his beloved wife Lisa; loving children, Ryan (Jillian) Harden, Ashley (Adam) Connor and Jennifer (David) Payne; cherished grandchildren, Hunter, Parker, Tanner, Charlotte, Makenna, Levi, Noah, Andrew, Chloe, Davion, Elijah, Damari and Nazariath; dear mother, Joanne Harms; caring siblings, Wayne (Deanna), Rod (Vincenette), Leonard (Beatrice) Harden and Joy (Al) Hoysradt; also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 3-7 PM at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 23, 2024 from St. Peter R.C. Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY 14092 at 10 AM. Family and friends are asked to please assemble at the church. Interment will follow in Oakland Rural Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined, if desired, memorials may be made in Richard’s memory to Our Lady of Fatima Shrine, 1023 Swann Road, Lewiston, NY 14092.
