Bertha Roberts

Bertha May Roberts, age 91, formerly of Olcott, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2011at the Newfane Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. Bertha was born May 22, 1919 in the Town of Lewiston, the daughter of the late Charles and Carrie (Hillman) Ortt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell K. Roberts; a son, Keith Earl Roberts; and three brothers; Ronald Ortt, Donald Ortt and James Ortt. She worked various occupations in Niagara County during her life. During WWII, she worked as an airplane assembler at Bell Aircraft, Niagara Falls, N.Y. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church of Pekin, New York and attended other Methodist churches in area when Pekin closed. Bertha is survived by her son Dr. Kenneth Roberts (wife, Virginia) of Fayetteville, Georgia; two granddaughters; Cheryl A. Porter (husband, Fred) Newnan, GA; Christina L. Jones (husband, Bobby) Auburn, AL; and four great grandchildren; Noah Jones, Shelby Porter, Jacob Jones and Anja Jones. Two brothers; Gordon Ortt and Milford Ortt; four sisters: Annabelle DiNicolantonio, Charlotte Stoner DeLorenzo, Betty Tuttle, Carol Ann Brown and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Family and friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville on Thursday, from 3 - 7 pm. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 4, at 11:00 am in the funeral home, with the Rev. Bobby Jones officiating. Burial will follow in North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd., Town of Cambria. Memorials may be made to the Newfane Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, 2709 Transit Rd., Newfane, NY 14108.
