Rena R. Israel

Rena R. Israel, age 98, of Wilson, NY entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at Northgate Manor of North Tonawanda, NY. Rena was born on March 8, 1926 in Red Rock, PA, the daughter of the late Frank and Manice (nee Foote) Rogers. Mrs. Israel was married for 66 years to the late Bernard D. Israel.

Rena worked as the office manager for Unit Step for many years as well as at a local farm, transplanting vegetable plants and packing tomatoes. She was very active in her church, joining North Ridge United Methodist Church in 1939, making her the longest member. Rena taught Sunday School for over 50 years and held several different positions within the church. She was also the last surviving charter member of the Wilson Conservation Club Auxiliary. Rena and Bernard were recognized for their dedicated work in outdoor conservation.

Besides her parents and husband, Rena is predeceased by her loving daughter Maureen; dear siblings Dale (Rose Marie) Rogers of Washington State and Ralph (Jacqueline) of North Tonawanda, NY.

Mrs. Israel is survived by her caring son Roger V. Israel; cherished grandchildren, Justin Israel and Jaren (Joanne) Israel; adored great-grandchildren, Kelsie Rose, Matthew Cash Israel, Isabella and Nicholas Lemke; also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arrangements by the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC. There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services on Thursday, July 25. 2024 at the North Ridge United Methodist Church, 3930 N. Ridge Road, Lockport at 11AM. Interment will follow in North Ridge Cemetery.

If desired, memorials may be made in Rena’s memory to Niagara Hospice or Niagara County SPCA.
