Obituary of Irene S. Hepburn

Irene S. Hepburn, age 94 formerly of N. 7th St. in Lewiston, died Friday February 25, 2011 in the Niagara Rehabilitation and Health Center in Niagara Falls, after a lengthy illness.
Irene was born March 1, 1916 in Campbelton, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of the late John B. and Georgina (Patterson) Glover and was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. On October 10, 1936 she married William K. Hepburn, Jr. During their many years living in Lewiston Irene was active in the Lewiston Volunteer Fire Company # 1 Ladies Auxillary and was a clerk at Coulson's Pharmacy for 20 years. She was a member of the Bacon Memorial Presbyterian Church in Niagara Falls, and a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston. Irene enjoyed being a homemaker, seamstress, and baker, and was famous for her pies.
Her husband of 55 years, William, predeceased her in 1991. She is survived by a daughter, Judith (late Joseph, Sr.) Turgeon of North Tonawanda; her grandchildren, Kristina (Hepburn) (Michael) Tincher and William J. Hepburn both of Florida, Tammy Fetto of Cheektowaga, Melinda (Barry) Boesken of Niagara Falls, NY, Joseph (Camille) Turgeon, Jr. of Hagerstown, MD, Jean (Thomas) Saraceni of Chili, NY, Kenneth Turgeon of West Seneca, NY, and Matthew (Melissa) Turgeon of Fishers, IN; 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Myrtle (late Arthur) Ellerbeck and Mable (Donny) McGreggor both of Niagara Falls, Ontario; a daughter in law, Eileen Hepburn of Alden, NY and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, William K. Hepburn, III; three brothers, Keith, William, and John Glover; three sisters, Empress Glover, Mary Taylor, and Marjorie Fox; and a daughter in law, Katherine Hepburn.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Tuesday from 4 - 8 pm. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 2, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Robert W. Peck officiating. Entombment will follow in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Lewiston Volunteer Fire Co. #1 Ambulance Fund, 145 N. 6th St. P.O. Box 748, Lewiston, NY 14092.
