Charles H. Michel

Charles H. Michel 93, of Ransomville, passed peacefully at home on April 18, 2024.

He was born in Niagara Falls in 1930 to the late Herbert and Elizabeth Michel. He served in the US Army where he was stationed in Austria until his Honorary discharge in 1953.

Charles married Jessie Grose in 1956 and spent 67 years together. They enjoyed camping, traveling, and raising their family together. He also took pride in helping to raise their granddaughter (the apple of his eye) and great grandson.

Charles will be remembered for being an avid sportsman. He was a member of the North Forest Rod and Gun Club where he participated in trap and skeet for many years. He enjoyed sharing his love for hunting and fishing with his family. Charles retired from CXST in 1990 after 30 years of being a carman. He was a member of the Ransomville United Methodist Church.

Besides his wife, Charles will be greatly missed by his sons: Charles (Kathy) Michel and James (Anna) Michel. He was a beloved Papa to Jessie (Jeffrey) Jesson, Jason (Jennifer) Hess, Randy (Deborah) Ott, Mark (Carly) Zimmer. Great Papa to: Andrew Jesson, Emileigh and Xander Ott and Isabelle Bradley. He was also loved by his sister-in-law Margaret (late John) Taylor, several nieces, nephews, cousins and especially his caregivers. He was predeceased by his brother Gerald (Barbara) Michel.

Visitation hours will be held on MONDAY from 12-2PM. at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES INC. 3648 Ransomville Rd. Ransomville, NY 14131. Funeral services with Rev. Richard Garrow Jr. will be held immediately following at 2:00 PM. Burial will be in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ransomville Volunteer Fire Company Ambulance Fund.
