Donald W. “Don” Peterson was born in Niagara Falls, NY on December 16th, 1931. He passed away peacefully on March 2nd, 2024.
Don grew up in Ransomville, graduated from Wilson High School and served in the United States Navy. He worked for over 30 years for Massey Ferguson in both their Farm Equipment and Industrial Machinery divisions as a Regional Sales Manager. After retiring from Massey, he went to work for John Deere and then finished his career selling road paving equipment. He was married to the love of his life, Carol on December 26th, 1993.
He lived in New York, Virginia, Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, and Texas before returning to New York over 20 years ago. He loved to drive, travel and work on anything mechanical. He excelled in everything he did.
In retirement he spent over 15 years travelling around the country with his wife Carol in their fifth wheel. Making Destin, FL their home away from home. He also did odd jobs including lawn maintenance, flower delivery and delivering recreational vehicles from Indiana.
Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and Friend.
Preceded in death by Father Ransom, Mother Marie, Brother Grant and Grandson Cameron.
Loved and missed by Wife Carol, Sister Jean, Daughter Didi, Bedias TX, Grandson Dustin, Son John (wife Delores), Smyrna TN, Grandson Jason (wife Amy), Great Grandson Barrett, Great Granddaughter Riley, Grandson David, Son Larry (wife Dinah), Chuluota FL, Stepdaughter Beth, Tampa FL, Stepdaughter Shelly (husband Rick), Bath Springs TN, Grandson Luke, Stepdaughter Kim (husband J), Newfane NY, Granddaughter Allie (fiancé Christopher), Grandson James, Granddaughter Ainsley and many friends.
There will be a celebration of life at the North Ridge United Methodist Church 3930 North Ridge Rd. Lockport, NY (Town of Cambria) on April 20th, 2024, visitation will be held from 11:00 AM. to 12:00 PM. A service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM followed by a fellowship luncheon. Please come and share your stories of Don with his family. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Make-A-Wish foundation as Don has requested. Arrangements entrusted to Hardison Funeral Homes Inc.
