Don was my father in law. Married to his youngest, Larry.
I will always remember Don as a gentle soul and a gentleman. Walking beside Carol, hand in hand. Always opening and holding the door for her, even the car door. Such a simple, yet beautiful, gesture.
Don was always working on something, whether for maintenance or to fix it. I felt he especially liked to take anything mechanical apart, fix it & put it back together. I never heard him shout out or throw anything in frustration. When he was done, all the tools went back to their place & he was on to the next adventure.
Your kind spirit and loving manner will be missed.

Even though we didn't get to see Don that often, we will lovingly remember him for his always ready smile and laughter, as well as his great stories. Our sympathy and warmest thoughts go out to the entire Peterson family. ~ Tony, Myra (Dinah's sister) and James Engelmeyer, Winter Park, Florida.

One year, Don & Carol came to our home for Thanksgiving with his son, Pete, and Pete's wife, my sister, Dinah. My husband always told the youngest children the Christmas Story and Don was so touched by it that he continued to tell his grandchildren the Christmas story every year at Thanksgiving, too. He loved his family and his Lord, and that was evident in his life. He will be sincerely missed. Wayne & Shan Peters
