Obituary of Celia J. Figura

Celia J. Figura, age 94, of Ransomville died Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston. Celia was born April 5, 1929 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late George and Jozefa (Adamus) Pasisz and was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. She married Joseph Figura, Jr. on November 15, 1958 and they have lived in Ransomville ever since.
After graduating High School, Celia had worked in the Accounting Department at Carborundum for over 10 years. She retired as a Teacher's Aide in the Montessori School at Stella Niagara. Celia was also a Communicant of Immaculate Conception RC Church in Ransomville.
In addition to her husband, Joseph, she is survived by two daughters, Christine (Bert) Riniti and Judith (Howard) Cournoyer, and one son, Stephen (Debbie) Figura. She is the proud grandmother of Timothy and Brian Cournoyer, Jessica Marcus, and her step grandson, John (Teresa) Koehler; and the great grandmother of Jack and Vivian, and two step great grandchildren, Teddy and Lydia. She was predeceased by two sisters, Ann Pasisz and Lottie Suchocki.
Memorial Mass will be offered on Monday, March 11, at 12:00 Noon at Immaculate Conception RC Church, 4671 Town Line Rd., Ransomville, NY with the Rev. Daniel Ogbeifun officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville.
