Obituary of Marie C. DeTamble

Marie C. DeTamble, age 84 of Youngstown, died Monday February 14, 2011 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, after a lengthy illness. Marie was born September 11, 1926 in Geneva, NY, the daughter of the late Edward and Ruth (Bennett) York. She attended local schools in Niagara Falls and on October 3, 1942 she married Donald F. DeTamble. They lived in Niagara Falls until moving to Youngstown 17 years ago. Donald predeceased her on September 6, 1996. Marie was an avid bowler at Beverly Lanes in Niagara Falls. She loved cleaning, crossword puzzles, painting and ceramics, and most of all, being with her family. She is survived by her children, Judy A. (Norman) Ault of Ransomville, Fred (Terry) Diez and Donna (Calvin) Hockenberry both of Youngstown; a brother, Roy York of San Jose, CA; a sister, Helen Christofferson of Santa Clara, CA; 9 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Edward York, Jr. and a sister, Joann Scott. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville on Wednesday from 3 - 7 pm. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 17, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Rex Stewart officiating. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute, PO Box 631, Buffalo, NY 14240-9856.
