Lila Lee (Korthals Allen) Champion, age 76, entered Heaven and was reunited with family and friends on February 6, 2024 while in the loving care of Lockport Rehab with her husband Dean E. Champion and daughter, Ruth Ann by her side. She was born September 6, 1947 in North Tonawanda, NY, the daughter of the late Edward and Anna (Frank) Korthals. Lila retired from the Niagara Falls Air Force Base after 20 years of service.
She was a devoted Wife , Mother, and Nana. Lila enjoyed her friends, family, music, literature, games, baking anise cookies, crocheting blankets, westerns, mysteries, and clocks.
Lila was wife to the late Ronald Lee Allen. In addition to her husband, Dean E. Champion, she is survived by her daughters, Theresa (Kevin) Bisher, Debra Allen, and Ruth Ann (Neil) Allen Upton; her sisters, Delores Palmeri, Susie (Jim) Rizzo, Rita (Ronald) Kuligowski, and Kathy (Donald) Lane; her beloved grandchildren, Callista, David (Aimee), and Kim (Bob) Bisher, Elizabeth and Renee Allen, Alex (Tuyet) and Andrew Davidson; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was also survived by her sisters in law, Joyce (George) Banagis and Patty Champion. Lila was predeceased by three sisters, Donna (Harold) Lum, Betty (Fred) French, and Judy (Jim) Schmidt; a brother, Alvin (Debbie) Korthals; a sister in law, Mona (Gerald) Myers and a brother in law Emerson (Ruth Anne) Champion.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd. Ransomville on Friday, February 9, from 2:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 10 at the Funeral Home with Rev. Shelley Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in Acacia Park Cemetery.
