Obituary of Sheila I Barmasse

Sheila Irene Barmasse (Esmond), age 90 of Wilson, NY, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, January 20, 2024. She was born in Buffalo on October 20, 1933, the only daughter of the late Stanley and Irene (Ren) Esmond. Sheila was raised and educated in Buffalo graduating with a Bachelor's degree from Daemen University (Rosary Hill College) and later received a Master's Degree from Niagara University. She passionately taught Grade 12 English for nearly 30 years at the Lewiston-Porter Central School. After 56 years of marriage, Sheila was predeceased by the love of her life Richard Barmasse. She was the treasured mother of Mark (Joanne), Matthew (Christine), M. Scott (Sheryl) and Marquette Edwards (David). Sheila was also beloved by her eight grandchildren Kiele, Hailey, Jana, Madison, Andrew, Paxton, Miller and Hagen. Funeral services will be private. Sheila and Richard were both residents of Wilson for 60 years and lifelong lovers of books and reading. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sheila's memory to the Wilson Community Library, 265 Young Street, P.O. Box 579, Wilson, NY, 14172 would be appreciated by the family.
