Obituary of John M. Freischlag

John M. Freischlag, age 63, of Wilson, husband of Nancy Freischlag (nee Parker) died Monday, January 8th, 2024, at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. John was born on March 20th, 1960, in Niagara Falls, NY. He is the birth son of the late John Restuccio and adoptive son of Eric Freischlag and Judith (Late Arnold) Smith Dier. John graduated from Wilson High School going on to join the United States Army serving as a Ranger from 1978 till retirement in 1998 at the rank of Master Sgt. He married Nancy Parker on August 8th, 1981. After his military service, John went on to graduate from Niagara University obtaining at bachelors degree and working for Stedman Nursery from 1998 till 2023 doing landscape design. He was a member of the Wilson American Legion Post, enjoyed Johnny Lighting cars, dogs, plants, being a beer “aficionado” and having a beer or two with his friends. Surviving is his wife, Nancy Freischlag; his sons, Kurt (Jessa) Restuccio and Grant Restuccio; his siblings, Eric (Helen) Freischlag, Lisa (Chas) Shaffer and Gary Freischlag; grandchildren, Elijah, Noah and several nieces, nephews, and many friends. Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 12th from 4-8 PM at Hardison Funeral Homes Inc., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville, NY. The funeral will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 13th at Warrens Corners UMC, Ridge Rd. at Stone Rd., Lockport, NY. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery with military honors.
