Obituary of Roy W. Johnson

Roy W. Johnson, age 94, of Ransomville, husband of the late Jayne Johnson entered into rest on Wednesday, December 5th, 2023, at home under the care of hospice and his family. Roy was born on August 24th, 1929, in Salem, PA. He is the son of the late Lee Roy and the late Edith (Wisor) Johnson. Roy married Jayne English on April 14th, 1951; she predeceased him on August 19th, 2013. Roy was in the U.S Army from 1951 till his discharge in 1953, serving in Korea where he volunteered for fox hole duty. He was a millwright by trade, lastly employed at GM/Delphi for 9 years, and previously working for Kimberly Clark for 20 plus years. Roy owned and operated at Christmas tree farm for many years, was an avid outdoorsman, animal lover, antique collector and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Roy was a former member of the Niagara County Sportsman Club and the Moose Lodge in Lewiston. Surviving are his children; Grover (Sharon) Johnson, Roy (Rhonda) Johnson, Sue (Late Donald) Wellar, Sonda Johnson (Mark Schoonmaker) and Tim (Jennifer) Johnson; his grandchildren Kristen, Joseph, Amanda, Late Lee, Lauren, Amy, Garrett, Timothy, Ashley, Cupper, Cauper, Laycie, Dykoda and Jenson; also, several great grandchildren and his dog, Pepper and cat, Junior. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 13th from 4-8 PM. at Hardison Funeral Homes Inc., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville, NY 14131. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 14th in the funeral home with Rev. Kim Smith officiating. Burial will be in North Ridge Cemetery, Town of Cambria.
