My sincere condolences to the McCollum family. Eugene was a sweet and loving soul and took care of our family when in need over the past five-generations, nearly seventy years. ~Marty Muniz (Harding, Gusky, and Muniz families).

Every memory I have of my grandfather is of him being the strongest man around. A Man who was Larger than life itself. He knew everyone. And if he didn’t know them, they still knew him. The man introduced me to my first chicken wing, my first frame of 10 pin, my first game of pool. He was the first person that I can remember turn my bare side red. And he was the first person to tell me to love everything and let God love me. Love u

Gene was a gentle giant with a warm heart and smile. I’ve known him since I was little. My Dad and Gene rode Harley Bike together for years. We bowled on a team for years. I remember his father had peacocks that were so beautiful. Rest In Peace knowing how many lives you touched.

Dearest Uncle Gene,
I have so many memories of you, and feel so blessed to have been part of your life. Not too long ago I remember coming over to visit you while Aunt Lee was out of town. I made you a fried egg sandwich, and we had lunch together. As we sat talking, I noticed all these little birds purched, almost just nestled on the little fence you had. I thought to myself, they look so happy and content! I looked over at you and said, I never seen anything like it. You got this big smile on your face and said "thank you for noticing". You further explained that you fed them every day and that "they are happy". Uncle Gene you are a gentle, loving giant of a man, with a huge heart. Scott and I will always love you and miss you dearly ❤️

Gene was one if the kindest men, I ever had the pleasure of knowing. I have so many fond memories of him showing me his favorite matchbox cars when he came in for lunch or when he was done for the day. You have my deepest condolences and prayers in the days ahead! RIP Gene and may the angels watch over your love! ❤️
Sincerely,
Susan Shepherd

Frank, me, and Gene golfing in Florida. This was one of his favorite activities. This man was the best step dad I could have asked for. Show me and my family so much love.

My brother Gene, I have to say, I was always so happy to have him for my brother, to know him, to love him unconditionally. He was a brother everyone looked up to, and respected for his strength and Demeanor. Speaking of Demeanor, Gene had a tone of voice that you wanted to listen for more, meaning Respect Me !!! And we did without a Problem!! He was not without problems, Oh No, like all of us, situations and life has a way of knocking us all down at times, but his strength and above all his understanding for loved ones he never wanted to complain. His living style was of high quality, clean, not only did he love his wife, he adored her. Lee McCollum was his rock, the look on his face when dinner was ready was one big smile after another, as her cooking is superb, I Can Attest with clear evidence. My brother, My brother, you told me that you would let me know that you were okay by the candy dish you made for me with all the crystals around it, that they would shimmer and shine beyond belief. Well, I will wait.... from the depth of my heart, I am at piece with you. loving you always, till we meet again. Your loving Sister. Judy
