Obituary of Thelma L. Livingston

Thelma L. Livingston, age 96 of Lewiston passed peacefully at home on November 14, 2023. Born on May 7, 1927 in Welland, Ontario, Canada to the late Haydn and Edith (Ball) Morris. She attended school in St. Catherines and she married her beloved husband, Charles, on July 11, 1947. They were married for 72 years. They moved to Niagara Falls, New York and became naturalized citizens. They raised their children in a cute little bungalow on Ontario Avenue where they lived for 53 years before moving to Lewiston. Thelma spent 35 years working at Mount Saint Mary’s Hospital in Administration and Human Resources at both the Niagara Falls and Lewiston locations. Thelma was instrumental in co-founding a federal credit union at the hospital and was its treasurer for 27 years. Thelma loved boating with her husband and was a member of the Ridgecomber Marina in Lewiston for over twenty years. She also loved spending time with family and was an avid reader and puzzler figuring out crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles daily until she was no longer able to do so. Surviving are her daughter, Cheryl (Thomas) Horton and son, Paul (Rose) Livingston. Grandchildren: Christopher (Stacy) Seefeldt, Jonathan Seefeldt, Eric Livingston, Jaimie Horton and Katherine (Ben Schell) Livingston. Great grandchildren:Caleb and Jacob Seefeldt; Aiden and Liam Hergert-Livingston. Close friends: Mike Novelli and Kathy Bentley. Predeceased by brothers Keith (late Sylvia) Morris and Clare (late Helen) Morris - all of St. Catharines, Ontario. The family wishes to thank the wonderful and compassionate team at Niagara Hospice especially her nurse, Emily. We are also grateful to Kim, Lilianna and Andrea, her caregivers from the HART program. Per Thelma’s wishes, there will be no prior visitation. A memorial dinner will be planned at the convenience of the family.
