Obituary of Diane E. Ziemendorf

Diane E. Ziemendorf (Nee Woods), age 82, of Wilson, wife of 62 years to Gary “Zoomer” Ziemendorf, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 25th, 2023, under the care of her family and Niagara Hospice. Diane was born on September 7th, 1941, in Amesbury, MA. She is the daughter of the late Sherman and the late Yvette (Brunele) Woods. She was a 1959 graduate of Wilson CSD. She married Gary Ziemendorf on Sept. 07, 1961 She retired from HSBC Bank (formerly Marine Trust Bank) as an Asst. Manager in 2009 after 44 years and also had worked for O’Connor family greenhouse for many years “calling it her therapy” Diane was a long-time member of the Wilson Fire Co. # 1 and the Ladies Auxiliary serving at past Treasurer and Secretary. She enjoyed gardening, cruises and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Gary Ziemendorf and two daughters, Cory Ziemendorf and Jennifer Ziemendorf; her siblings, Lorayne (Late Jess) Woodard, Wendy (Tom) O'Connor; and David (Barbara) Woods; her grandchildren, Michelle (Colin) Sadler, Nicholas (Cherise) Mrzygut, Savannah (John) Krieger, Kasey Taylor (Jarod Byrk); her great grandchildren, Craig Slater Jr., Christopher Fligger, Carson Sadler, Zofia Lopacki, Zenon Lopacki, Easton Bermer, Layne Bermer and Axel Mrzygut. Per her request she will be cremated, and no services will be held. Memorial donations may be made to Wilson Fire Co. # 1. Arrangements entrusted to HARDSION FUNERAL HOMES INC. RANSOMVILLE.
