Obituary of Ruth Tordoff

Ruth Ann Tordoff of Wilson, NY passed away peacefully on September 8, 2023, at Elderwood in Wheatfield. Born on September 16, 1940, in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, Ruth's presence brought grace and joy. In November 1960, Ruth married her beloved Raymond W. Tordoff in Kitchener. Their loving bond of over six decades saw them embark on global adventures, immigration to Lewiston, NY, USA in 1974, and a lifetime full of incredible memories. Ruth's professional journey was marked by significant achievements in various roles, eventually supporting her husband in their family-run business. However, her dearest roles were those of a Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She excelled in these life skills always providing a warm and welcoming home to family and friends alike. Ruth loved to entertain and was always the life of the party at any gathering with her charismatic charm, zest for life and sometimes silly antics. Her goal was to make you smile and have a grand time. She did it so well! Living every moment with boundless energy and zest, Ruth explored numerous passions. Whether it was cooking, skiing, golfing, curling, swimming, gardening, sewing, needlework, or traveling, she approached everything with dedication and finesse, truly living life on her own terms. She is survived by her husband, Raymond W. Tordoff; her children, Richard Tordoff and wife Lesley, and Richelle Tordoff with fiancé Chad Plants. Her legacy continues with her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren: Raymond A. Tordoff and wife Amy with their children Eleanor and Amelia; Brittany and Chip Forbes with their children Graham and Audrey; Gunnar Tordoff; Ripley Tordoff and her daughter Adelaide. She is also survived by her sister Laura. Ruth joins her siblings Jack, Don, Roy, and Dorothy in peaceful rest. No immediate services will be held. A celebration of Ruth's remarkable life will be organized for family and friends at a later date. In the meantime, we encourage all to raise a toast in honor of a truly exceptional soul.
