Obituary of Constance M. MacKay

Constance M. “Connie” MacKay, age 84, formerly of Lewiston and Zephyrhills, FL died Wednesday, September 6th, 2023, at Elderwood at Wheatfield. Connie was born on September 20th, 1938, in Niagara Falls, NY. She is the daughter of the late Gordon and the late Ivy (Clarke) McKay. She was a 1946 graduate of LaSalle H.S, furthering her education with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, applied music and a master’s degree in multidisciplinary studies. She retired from Niagara Falls Board of Education in 1992 after 33 years as a music teacher at Centre Ave., Maple Ave., Kalfas and Gaskill Schools. Connie was the former choir director at St. Paul’s Episcopal in Lewiston, Trinity Episcopal in Buffalo, and St. Stephen’s Episcopal in Niagara Falls. Surviving are her brother Scott (Nancy) McKay, also her nieces, nephews and many great nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sisters, Bobette Bensen, and Shirley Venturin. Calling hours will be held on MON. September 11th from 3-6 PM. at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES INC. 401 Ridge St. (N. Fourth and Ridge Streets) Lewiston, NY. A memorial service will be held on TUE. September 12th at 10:00 AM. in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 400 Ridge St. (N. Fourth & Ridge Streets)., Lewiston, NY. Burial will be in St. Paul's Episcopal Columbarium located inside the church.
