In Loving Memory of
Alfred G. Walker
The best “Grandpa NY” there ever was and the greatest dad a daughter could ever ask for. He is already impossibly missed.
Alfred G. Walker entered the gates of heaven on August 31, 2023 after bravely battling congestive heart failure. He took his last breaths at Baylor Scott and White Hospital, in Lakeway, TX following a visit from his grandchildren, Jonathan and Arden, and with his daughter, Sharon, and son in law, Ryan, at his side and holding his hand.
Alfred was born in Batavia, NY to late Grant and Florence (Codd) Walker. He was a long time resident of NY, with years of vegetable and dairy farming experience, earning awards and accolades for his farming expertise. He married Paula (Shiffer) on August 25, 1973. Together, they were devout stewards of God, as active members of Calvary Baptist Church and then Niagara Frontier Bible Church. Alfred enjoyed time with his family, gardening, and participating in church events. He was a stickler for details, planning ahead, punctuality, and frugality. He glowed with pride at the mention and presence of his grandchildren.
He is survived by his sister Dorothy Walker of Lockport, NY; his daughters Janet Walker of Newport Beach, CA, and Sharon (Walker) Wisnieski of Austin, TX; son-in-law Ryan Wisnieski; and two grandchildren Jonathan Wisnieski and Arden Wisnieski. He spent the last year of his life living near his Austin, TX family where they all enjoyed each holiday and family birthday together.
