Robert J. Schruise

Robert J. Schruise, age 87, of Ransomville, died Monday, July 10, 2023, while at the Harris Hill Nursing Facility. Bob was born on May 24, 1936, in Panama, NY. He is the son of the late Garrett and the late Henrietta Schruise. He married Bonnie Lee MacMillan on December 29, 1977, she predeceased her on November 23rd, 2022.

Bob served in the United States Army from 1959 till his discharge in 1962. He retired from Operating Engineers LOCAL Union # 463 in 1995.

Bob and Bonnie enjoyed Traveling. Bob was a 40-year member of Ransomville Vol. Fire Co. serving in a fire police capacity, a 55-year member of the Ransomville F & AM where he was a past Lodge Master from 74-78 and also served on the Town of Porter Zoning Board in past years.

He is survived by one daughter, Shanna Watson (Patrick Thiel) and one son, Scott (Amy) Cudney, also his grandchildren Kenneth and Kyle Cudney; a sister, Sandy (Howie) Pitt and pet dog Ozzie. Bob is predeceased by his brother John (Roberta) Schruise and his sister, Martha (Harry) Mong.

A celebration of life service or both Bob and Bonnie will be held at the Ransomville Fire Co. on SATURDAY July 15th from 1-4 PM. Burial of Bob and Bonnie will be in Grimsby Ontario, Canada
