Obituary of Josephine Lauzonis

Josephine Lauzonis, age 96, of Lewiston died Friday, May 26, 2023, at Our Lady of Peace in Lewiston, NY. Josephine was born on September 5, 1926, in Niagara Falls, NY. She is the daughter of the late Frank and the late Sophie Kowalczyk. She met and married her loving husband George Lauzonis and was predeceased by him on August 11,1990. She was employed for many years as a cafeteria worker at Our Lady of Fatima Shrine. She previously worked at multiple jobs including the Riverside Inn, Shady Lanes Bowling and the 3-F Conservation Club. Josephine loved flowers, especially violets, and was an avid gardener. She is survived by three sons: Duane (Shirley) Lauzonis, Robert (Candace) Lauzonis, Michael (Denise) Lauzonis, and the late Gary Lauzonis; she was also predeceased by the late Linda Lauzonis. Josephine was a beloved grandma to Holly, Stacy, Erin, Christopher, Nicole, Jodie, the late Kevin, step-grandchildren Jen and John, Kristy, Jessica and Katie. She is survived by eleven cherished great-grandchildren. Josephine was predeceased by her siblings, Stanley and Walter Kowalczyk, Anne Dominski and Sophie Sherman. She had many loving nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 31st from 4-7 PM. at Hardison Funeral Homes Inc., 401 Ridge St. (N. Fourth & Ridge Streets), Lewiston, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 1st at Immaculate Conception RC Church, 4671 Town Line Rd., Ransomville, NY (Please assemble at church). Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of Fatima Shrine, 1023 Swann Rd., Lewiston, NY 14092.
