Obituary of Mark Finn

Mark L. Finn - Of Lewiston, NY, died May 8, 2023, after a long illness. He was 71. Born February 21, 1952, in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of Barbara (Lion) and Robert E. Finn, one of two children, he was the brother of Robert E. Finn, Jr.
He graduated from Williamsville South and attended SUNY Cortland.
Out of college, he worked at The Lion Company, and launched a lifelong career in sales. He then worked at the family business, Yachting World. Later, he joined D&O Engineering which sold high tech devices to industry. In recent years he purchased the company.
Mark had many lifelong interests and a true zest for life. He enjoyed sailing on Lake Ontario, and taught sailing at the Youngstown Yacht Club.
He loved travel, visiting British Columbia, Hawaii and Japan.
Mark had a lifelong passion for music beginning in high school. Self-taught, he was an accomplished musician on piano and guitar. He was a founding member of Group Therapy, a Steely Dan cover band., He also played with singer Peggy Silvestri and bassist Mark Harris. In recent years he was a member of the Ransomville Free Methodist Church Band.
He was an avid reader and enjoyed humor in all its forms - movies, literature, comic books, etc.
Mark is survived by his brother Robert E. Finn (Sally Johnson), companion Karen Brower, daughter Juanita Finn. uncle of Theodora (Jason Warfe), Alexa (Will Falzone) and Ian Finn; and great-uncle to Lucia Warfe. Predeceased by son Juan Finn.
Mark is also survived by many friends and cousins.
He loved his pets and had many cats over the course of his life. He is survived by his cat Boots and dog Mazy.
Family will be present to receive relatives and friends Friday June 2, from 10 AM 11 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11 AM at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 401 Ridge St., Lewiston, NY 14091.
