Kevin Joseph Mahoney, age 61, of Lewiston, husband of Karen Mahoney (Nee Placek) died Sunday, April 2nd, 2023, at Schoellkopf Nursing in Niagara Falls, NY. Kevin was born December 11th, 1961, in Niagara Falls, NY. He is the son of the late Joseph and the late Virginia (Crawford) Mahoney. He married Karen Placek in November of 1991.
Kevin graduated from Lewiston Porter H.S. in 1980. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1980 to 1986. He retired from CSX as an Engineer after 27 years. He loved to spend time with his family, was an avid Buffalo Bills fan, and a member of the VFW Post 917 in Niagara Falls.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Mahoney; his children, Christopher (Jamie) Mercer, Sarah (William) Pippard, Jonathan Mercer (Sarah Clark); his siblings, Kathryn (Bob) Coulter, Margaret Mary Mahoney, Jo-Anne (Brad) Jircitano and Deborah Jean Mahoney; his grandchildren, Christopher Jr., Ryan Kevin, Jack, Kara, and Megan; also many nieces, nephews, brother and sister in-laws and his beloved dog Molly. He is predeceased by his sisters, Maureen Newton and Michele Lane.
A private service will be held at a later date.
