Obituary of Joanne M. Collins

Joanne M. Collins, age 93, of Lewiston entered into rest on Sunday, January 15th, 2023, at Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Joanne was born October 15, 1929, in Detroit, MI. She is the daughter of the late Robert and the late Gladys (Shannon) Reid. She married Franklyn Collins on August 11, 1951, he predeceased her on January 14, 2015. Joanne was a graduate of Michigan State receiving a bachelor degree in business. She was employed by Kelly Business Institute as a Business Teacher. Joanne was a long time member of the Niagara Falls Country Club, the Youngstown Yacht Club, the First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston, a life member of the Lewiston Garden Club, member of the Lewiston Service Guild and also Tatler. She was very active with local sewing groups and loved to do crossword puzzles. She enjoyed skiing, sailing, tennis, and golf. She also enjoyed travelling and visited many countries throughout the world. Gardening was one of her favorite pastimes. Surviving are her children; Susan McBee, Robert (Debbie) Collins, Amy Collins, and David Collins; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her sister Donna Hinden. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM. On Saturday MARCH 11th at the First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston 505 Cayuga St. Lewiston, NY 14092. Entombment will be in the Church Columbarium.
